I'm looking at a plate that I like, but I don't like the message underneath. Does it cost anything aside from the remanufacturing cost to have a new message put on? Or, white tape and a vivid?

I unfortunately have a message plate owned by my brother.

I HATE the message, but he doesn't want it removed.
It was $36 I think to have it remade without the message. (this would also remove colour of plate text).

This removes the message permanently, and they would then want $200ish to put it back...

I had to sand mine off. Worked ok.
The message is part of the reflective coating, not an add-on to it.

when i got my plates remade when they got stolen, they said you cant just get it taken off as easy as that, im over the HOE HOE HOE, THE DRUNKEN FOOL top and bottom of my plates....

nope! never had any 'random' breath test stops either!

mind you when i had my POS integra with no front bumper years and years back i got pulled up twice within 10 mins, first cop had a laugh and positively commented about the plate (he pulled me over cause he couldnt see front plate, which was on dash, let me off piece of cake after i fibbed and told him an old lady backed into my car)
the second cop however chased after me in some dangerous U turn maneuver parked half across the road causing a traffic disruption, got angry, had no sense of humor and told me if he saw my car again he would impound it - for not having the plate mounted on the front of the car - what a cock. I was literally doing nothing wrong driving-wise etc. I told him id just been pulled over 10mins before hand and the other cop had no issues, plus the old lady backing into me fib, but he just started ranting and i stopped paying attention.
i dont blame him tho, shitty no-bumper honda intera on chromes (by shitty i mean gay, it was all legal (bar no front bumper) and in good condition)
