looking to buy: 2005 ZT Caldina wagon

Looking at a wagon for the wife to drive. Kid on the way and the corolla is long in the tooth.

Currently looking into a 4wd Wagon.

Im prety familiar with the 3sge in the gen2 models, however the gen3 was given a (newer?) 1az model engine, feels a bit of a lame duck to be honest but maybe im too used to the 3 litre maxima i've been driving around in lately.

whats the reliabilty of this engine like, are there any common faults with the gen3 Caldina?

As it's primarily for the wife it doesn't have to be a tourqe machine, just needs to look nice and start everytime. (not asking for much am I?)

Any horror stories about them i should know about?

the 1AZ and 2AZ engines dont seem to be too flash to be honest. they are VERY VERY touchy to lack of servicing in the first 100,000k's.
