wow, that's really sad news. I have some really good friends that assist/run cycle open days at hamptons, hope it wasn't one of thier events. They are so cautious about safety and everyones well being.

That is sad, way too young!

Safety and motorbikes doesn't really go together.

I suppose though it doesn't matter what safety you have in place theres always a chance that things can go pear shaped and no doubt thats what has occured here.

Yeah thats the risk of racing unfortunately.. Not too sure what he did though or how. The start/finish line is near the end of the front "straight" isn't it?

yeah i would think it would be a fairly safe part of the track as the walls aren't sticking out at funny angles or anything.
perhaps he came over the slight 'bump' on the straight and got a bit of air and skewed off upon landing. i have heard some people find that hop a bit unnerving and even heard some people say they have seen cars get air over there. was designed to be run in the opposite direction apparently so will be interesting to see if they do anything about it. :?

Wow, it was one of my mates that died...... :( he was an awesome really genuine nice guy. He was on my Aircraft technicians course, and sadly another Airforce person to die this year.

in the corolla doing 150ish over that bump, despite being 4wd, it still gets wheel spin......

Yeah - friend of mine was there for the trackday.
He dropped in my place and we talked about it.
Sad

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
