Trademe sale advice

So i sold my GT4 on trademe, the guy came and looked at it twice and then text me saying the auction said its registered till Dec 11.
What happened was i hit 2011 rather then 2010. Honest mistake.

So what i said is that if i get the bank account number i will deposit 100 bucks into his account since i made a mistake. (I sold it for $2100)

Does this seem fair? because he had two chances to inspect it and also can use car jam(i didnt hide the plate in the photos etc).

The other thing is i have had higher offers for it but already agreed with him for the price he bought it for.

I think you are doing the right thing, but you aren't necessarily obligated to do so. I would exclude those other higher offers as you've already sold the vehicle to him and you can't exactly take the car back and sell it higher based on some offers which may not even pull through.

That sounds fair, He can buy the car as he inspected it,
or he can return it for a full refund and you can sell the someone else.

But
For the price of a year of rego, you then know that you have a definate sale
as the higher offers can always run into problems once they need to front up with the money.

Sounds fair to me. Just have email chat of said deal so it can't come back on you as he has agreed to settle the mistake with you refunding him $100.

If he turns around and says he wants a full years rego, then it will just be annoying. It was only a typo after all, i'm sure there are allowances for typos so you're may be doing more than you legally have too, I dunno.

Sounds fair - I mean you check all that stuff when you buy a car anyway so it's surprising he missed it.

Doesn't it show up on the change of ownership too?

if yes then i think its a fair deal, if the buyer isnt happy then tough luck, hes already bought it

got it all sorted a put the $100 into his account and done with. I will be more careful next time...
