gymkahna

Postby deaf_rattle » Thu Feb 24, 2011 8:29 pm

As posted earlier (attached below), I am running a sealed motorkhana event at Hampton Downs. The venue is booked adn I will be posting this event on the Toyspeed forums next week as I want to give Supra members (and friends) the first chance to take a spot. The area will be gated from other users and we can run the course wet or dry as they will have water sprinklers around the skidpad.

Please respond with numbers and I will contact you regarding payment etc.

Scrutineering will be a quick safety check, Hunt. Nothing too serious.

Regards
David.

Hi everyone,
I've booked the skidpan at Hampton Downs for a gymkhana event, primarily for members of the Supra Club on the above date. Matt and I had thought of putting together another SupraFest around that weekend but I don't have the time to undertake the organizing of the event at this stage. If the day goes well, I will be making arrangements for a similar event in 2012 as part of a SupraFest weekend.
I will be posting it on a couple of other sites (Toyspeed for one) in a few weeks' time and expect the costs to be about $35 per driver. I will require the full amount paid before mid March and do intend to run the event, rain or shine. The skidpan pan is concrete and very large (100 x 50 metres) and we will have exclusive use of it from 9am until approx 4pm.

I'd like to be able to run two courses side by side (with a safety buffer/space) and while the courses may not be the same on each half, it will mean less time waiting and more time driving.

If you are interested, you can reply and I will make a note of names.

I would be keen... but I assume it wouldn't be wise to rip up a $2K-ish set of tyres? :?

hampton skidpad is pretty easy on tyres, its so smooth and slippery its hardly worth putting on skid tyres. thats without the water!
