IRC series at Taupo Easter weekend -SS2000

Well we are heading back to Taupo again this year to run with SS2000 again at Easter, this time there are 7 cars heading up instead of 2.
2 Corolla's, a Honda and 4 Evo's.

Anyone else from TS attend theses events as a competitor or spectator?

would be good to catch up with a fdew more TS people.

Im keen to race. Been several years since the last tracky for me so im in! aint heard of SS2000 though, whats it all about? ill either enter my Supra MK3 Turbo or a MKIV TT not sure yet.

My car is still in bit's, so wont be racing there this time, have taken the season off. Might come over and have a look tho.

Had seven all up coming although one is in doubt as the car is still waiting for repairs from 2 weeks back, But I am hopeful that it will be there.

Doesn't look like i'm going to make it racing, but i'll be there supporting the old man so I don't mind giving a hand where needed.

Yeah cool picture.

We ended up with 6 cars as one car had an engine failure before the event.

2 Corolla's with 7AGTE's
4 Evo's and a N/A Honda.

I qualified 2nd behind Justin Herbet's Honda.
First race I got stuck wide on turn one again on the loose rubber and cold tyres, and run wide loosing a few places.
Managed to catch Justin right at the end of the race and make the pass for the race win.

Second race was reverse grid. Started at the back and made it part way through the field. Final position was 9th of 29 starters.

Last race we got badly handicapped and the 4 fastest SI cars all got placed in our own group off the back. Made it a difficult race as we were so far behind at the start.
