Where to get barrel type W2A in NZ

Postby iOnic » Sat Sep 17, 2011 10:58 am

Hey guys. After a W2A intercooler for my Corolla but due to space constraints it needs to be a round type like so..

Anywhere in NZ sell these? All I've found in my (not really hard) search is the big square things. Would really rather not import but if I have to I guess that's that

Thanks in advance
Chris

They don't stock them. Only import them on an as needed basis which is what I'm trying to avoid. Doesn't have to be PWR, can be chinachinachina for all I care. Doesn't even have to be new - I'll consider anything

Yep, both only have the big box type ones.

If I decide to take a leaf out of everyone elses books at work and not do work today I'll see what I can find.

e-bay, in 2 weeks will be at your door at half price (or even third price, the way exchange rate is going these days).

2 weeks is too long. I hope to be tuning in 2 weeks. Wanna go to a place, pay money and leave with the item. Might be quicker to get materials and make one I think.

What would you do for the core though? I can't imagine you'd be able to fabricate an efficient core very quickly/easily, and I also can't imagine there's many readily available cores that would suit a barrel type intercooler. Buy from the US, pay extra $$ to have it sent on a 2-3 day courier.

Should be able to get one from Aust fairly quickly I would have though,
although you'd have to pay extra freight I'd imagine.

We can get parts ex australia in 3 days for extra freight costs from some of our suppliers.

What is this 2-3 day courier from the states you speak of :?: Would make life at work a hell of a lot easier. Quickest we have had stuff is 5 days via UPS (we import weekly from the US).

http://www.fedex.com/nz/services/wwservices.html

FedEx international priority is 1-3 days from the USA. I've sent stuff to Sweden in about 2 days before with UPS but their website is more annoying to use, but they definitely have something too. FWIW the thing that went to Sweden weighed about 5kg and cost about $500 to send, so it's not cheap!

Spoke to someone with one and apparently while the IC is compact, it has a low capacity and no filler so you have to find room for a tank as well. Probably no drama on the Terranosaurus though. I'd still like one eventually but for now I'll use a modified Subaru setup. Tank and core are one unit and I have alcohol/water injection if I need it

Akane: Yeah can fit one but don't want A2A. That and I would imagine that something that small probably isn't the best with 10.something (probably in the 11's) CR + boost
