Window issues!

Postby FST4RD » Sat May 05, 2012 3:35 pm

Just got my car back from the painters again, after my car got hit, they fixed it, but missed a spot so it had to go back in again.
When I was driving it yesterday there was a mist over the front, side and back window like it was real dirty on the inside. I realised today after wiping the inside of the window that it was on the outside. I got some window cleaner and paper towels and tried to clean it and can't, seems it's like a fine misty paint overspray. Where the patches are you can feel it's not smooth like the rest of the windows, it's quite rough.
It's kinda bad as It's right over the drivers side of the front windscreen.
I would take it back but the paint place isn't open over the weekend.
Would turps or meths take this off, or am I just best to drive with it like this and take the car back on Monday?

Yeah just nip in to supercheap and get one of those window scraper blades, and go over the whole window, works a treat. Takes a bit of the crap you usually can't get off too as a bonus
Ending up with spare parts in assembling things since 1983

As has been said scrap the paint off with a razor blade, then spray window cleaner on and give it a wipe with some newspaper (newspaper is the best thing for cleaning glass)

Just a little paranoid about scratching the window that's all...

Good quality new blades should be fine.
