Much demand for ae101 levin parts/

Postby crispy'86 » Thu Feb 28, 2013 5:15 pm

Looking at buying a 20v ae101 levin that's de-registered, so not going to bother putting it back on the road, to hopefully make some money on parts. Is there much current demand on bits? I see people advertise for bits here and there occasionally. It doesn't appear to be super strut but the person selling is a bit vague on it, but is a complete car.

A tidy BZG netted around the 2k mark. So perhaps half that, perhaps.

Looked at it tonight and it's relatively tidy (as far as sitting inside and outside a workshop for the last few months) It does have a blown head gasket so it brings the price down a bit, Even though it's easy as for me to fix it, so i'll be offering $450 at the very most. Just depends if he budges from his asking price.

i'd have thought you'd be working hard to make much on it at that price with the engine being potentially worthless

+1

What do you think the value is in? I'd look for better opportunities tbh. If you can make it work though, then all good. I wouldn't offer that much though.

thing is, whats a ratty old silvertop really worth? $400? theres probably a couple of hundred bucks in getting the BHG sorted out, plus your time and hassle.

but yeah i guess if you have some spare time and want a little pocket money it could work out ok. LSD gearboxes are worth a bit arent they?
