Curletts Road 4 laning submission

Postby Cyclone21 » Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:34 pm

Can you guys please make a submission and tell NZTA to permanently four lane curletts road between Main South Rd and Blenheim Road, its such an important piece of SH73 and the clearways are just a stopgap measure, its 50 / 50 on the submissions to permanently four lane it thus far, so be great to have more people submit for permanent four laning.

information: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation/curletts-road/

submission form: http://www.nzta.govt.nz/consultation/cu ... -form.html

You do not need to fill out all of the questions, just ensure that you say permanently four lane the road.

Thanks,

I still have the paper work saying that John's road between Sawyers Arms and wairaki, the work to 4 lane it was meant to be completed 31/5
I drive down there at least 6 times a day, and in the last few weeks you'd be lucky to see half a dozen guys at a time around there. When they did the first side, which they still haven't finished, they had a massive crew working there everyday to complete it. It's kinda like they ran out of enthusiasm to finish it and can't be bothered.

Plus I though it would be easier, instead of having some numbnuts out there everyday moving the cones from side to side, they should do what they do in Australia. They have 3 lane roads but they have big illuminated signs over the road saying which lanes you can drive in. So in the morning the middle lane was open to help ease traffic in 1 direction, the middle of the day the middle land was closed and in the evening the land was open going in the opposite direction to help traffic heading home.
I'm not sure Christchurch drivers would know how to adhere to this though, and there would probably be heaps of head on crashes
On the upside, it would be cheaper, easier and faster to implement.

I think Isaac's did Yaldhurst to Avonhead Road? In the grand scheme of things it was finished reasonably quickly and to a good standard. The other sections are just a mess.
