NAC insurance quote at $25 a week. Good or bad?

Postby XSVWGN » Tue Dec 24, 2013 7:15 pm

Hey team,

It's been a while since I had a car insured and now that my turbo corolla is back on the road I'm looking to insure it to make sure I keep it. There seem to be so many cars stolen at the moment (In Wellington) and this past week alone a heavily modified civic and a evo4 have been stolen aswell as a skyline so I suspect there have been many more too.

Is $25 a week for full cover reasonable do you think? I currently have a 5star alarm with a few immobilisers and GPS is being fitted too.

Depends on your age and history and details of the car but sounds a bit pricy.
My RX8 and Skyline are about $30 a week combined with all mods declared.

I'm 28 with a good driving history apart from one accident 2years ago. All my mods have been listed too. Very long page!

Sounds pricey to me, I'm paying 400 a year for full insurance with JRI for my Levin, only catch is I can only drive it 10000km a year - which doesn't really matter as it's not a daily driver.

That is more like it!!! My car wouldn't even go that far. Don't think it has even done 5000 in the years that I have owned it haha.

I'm paying AU$900 per year for full comprehensive on my Evo 7 (this is in Aus however - but NZ$1300 per year still sounds like a lot). I think my STi 3 in NZ cost me around $1050 per year through Bay Insurance when I was still there.

My Celica(s) were both in the order of NZ$1200 per annum... so if you're a young driver with a high profile car that rate is probably fair. Glad I drive nannawagons now in some respects!
