VZN130 Mechanical workshop south Auckland or Franklin

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in either East / South Auckland or Franklin area that's experienced with the 3VZE engine?

I've got a 1995 Surf 3VZE with approx 205,000km devolving some oil leaks and due for a service.

Keen on getting the oil leaks sorted and a good service however would prefer to deal with someone who has experience with these engines as I believe they have some common faults and some of the aftermarket parts don't last.

Really want to get it running mint again for summer.

If you've got any recommendations that'd be greatly appreciated !

I can't help you with where to take it to get work done but get genuine Toyota parts for anything that needs replaced to get around the issue of aftermarket parts that don't last. The cost of Toyota parts that don't break over aftermarket is usually not much and the extra cost of having to go back and replace a broken part early on makes it cheaper and less time spent with a broken car.

And if you have to replace the knock sensor there is a cheats way of doing it without removing the manifold.
