how so??

was there friday night in turn 3, and last night in turn 2, some really awesome teams racing both nights, Tigers were very impressive but seemed to lose the plot against the panthers who simply looked more organised than anyone else on the night despite being down a car from the night before.

was also very impressed with the british team, bit more experience they could be a real force!

GO PANTHERS! 4 in a row which equals their own record lol

wonder if they can do 5....

pissed off at nelson for that last race... they had 3 trying to race for position and no one blocking for like the last 4-5 laps! all they needed to do was hold up palmy for a bit just to let that top nelson fella catch up!!

grrr, hopefully next year someone can step up...

i swear there was enough wgtn cars racing for other teams they could have nearly had their own team. it seems their priority is with keeping the standard stocks title.

ok well i definitely wasnt best off on sunday, by god i was hung over. I always seem to get written off when i go drinking in palmy.
i blame my slack body for not keeping up with the bourbon intake (apparently my mix was slightly too strong), that coupled with drinking it all day at the track, then knocking it up another notch before drinking more at l8dogs flat, then more in town including a double parked bourbon and jager bomb...
the whole (non) contents of my stomach and intestines now belong to alavista motels sink and toilet system...
lucky i wasnt the one driving home....
so sorry about my drunken posting :D

Nelson went so well up until their last race when they choked

Stratford would actually do better if they organised their own team early on, and actually raced together, as a team, and practiced.
But i guess also they would do better if there was more money involved (ie all 5 Stratty cars are prob worth about the same as one Palmy car)

It was good to see there was far less protesting and bullshiz going on this year and it came down to real driving

was also good to see and hear so many angry 1UZ's!!

i reckon give the poms a couple of years and they will be definitely in the finals. they can drive thats for sure, but contact racing isnt really done over there, they just need some more practice. but once again, loads of money is and will continue to be poured into those cars...

PS i reckon there should be none of the crappy team swapping/imports/wayne hemi type crap where he lives in aussie/welly but races for palmy etc
most teams seem to do it, but i just dont agree with it personally

there were couple of cars that were running nissan V8s, was a couple of fords and chevs, a rover V8 but mostly 1UZ's (i actually think these sound quite hollow compared to the bigger displacement engines, although still cool).

there was a few black teams, palmy/kihikihi/stratford etc. definately need a methanol stock car class

yea im with ya on that one, although in the case of hemi he races out of palmy because they dont run a superstock class in wellington anymore, hence no superstock welly team these days, bit dissapointing if ya ask me, but hey they might get enough superstocks down there again one day to run a class and get back to having a team again, who knows.

but it would be good to see more teams around, ie wellington and baypark,

and what happened to the auckland team this year?? in heard something about mechanical problems meaning they cudnt put a team together? anyone know anymore on this?

and good on the poms, they did exceptionally well, will be good to see them back again next year now theyve got some experience under their belts at teams racing

and shame nelson went to sleep for a while there in the final, im thinking perhaps they didnt realise penn was leading?? i cant think why else 3 cars would clock up laps without making any attempt to stop the lead car...

but in saying all that, palmy raced hard, showed loads of class and experience and definatly deserved to win once again

Just read on another forum that peter barry, the driver that was injured passed away on wednesday night. having trouble finding any articles on local news websites other than stuff saying he was having an operation on tuesday. it seems if it doesn't involve treaty settlements or boyracers or peoples houses burning then its not newsworthy.
