Anyone in Palmy good at tuning Map ECU's?

Postby Elmendorf » Thu Feb 25, 2010 10:19 pm

Just wondering if anyone knows of any place that has experience tuning Map ECU's as I am considering getting one for my car. Just want to know if I'm going to have to trailer it to Aucks or Welly or not.

Please don't post telling me how crap they are and not to get one, I don't care if you think they are useless I am simply wondering if there is someone around Palmy other than Speedworks that may be able to tune it for me.

Thanks

How do you tune the Map ecu? If it requires the right program on a laptop you'd be lucky to find someone... If it just has knobs for tuning it'll be quite easy.

Give Rodney at Roskilda a call and decribe what you need to do - he'll be helpful.

Yes it is laptop tuned and windows based. I believe it comes with the programme required.

Sweet, just chat to Rodney or Hagen about it - they should be able to figure it out.

sweet map ecu or map ecu II?

i thought there was a tunner down there somewhere for them? maybe not

you obviously checked out there web site?

http://www.mapecu.com/

or there forum?

http://www.performancemotorresearch.co. ... /index.php

dont know who is a good tunner down your ways but markku would know, have a yarn to above mentioned pple first to get a good feel, but there simple enough to get the jist of how to tune

all else fails have a yarn to steve murch, as he has a massive input with these ecu's

i think that should be a good enough free plug for my uncle ha

Map ECU II and yep been on the website and forums etc. Haven't seen anyone from down this way mentioned just Aucks and CHCH/Timaru.

Worst case scenario I have to take it up to Aucks to be tuned. Would rather get someone in the know to tune it as I have had enough of "I have the jist of how to tune this" people damaging my engines.

I'll have a ring around closer to the time. Sounds like there are 2 places to try here in Palmy. See which one treats me like a person and not some dumb blonde chick which seems to be status quo around these parts when it comes to the car scene
