Palmy help

Postby thornz » Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:44 am

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone from Palmy could go have a look at a car for me over the weekend? Just want a visual on what it looks like body and interior wise. Would get it checked our independantly if it looks in tidy condition.

Its this Subaru here at Peter Day motors:

Also, anyone know of a good Suby mechanic who could check it out for us if we decided we were serious about it?

Cheers

That would be awsome.

Really just want to know if its in good condition, no major dings, scrapes, scratces, wether the leathers stil in good condition, also, wether its been smoked in/reaks of tobacco smoke.

Just seeing if its worth chasing up and getting a mechaincal inspection done on it.

Cheers

Generally speaking, Peter Day is/was quite fussy with the cars he stocked, so it ought to be ok. I'm sure someone will be able to help out though. As for Subie mechanics in Palmy, I would usually suggest Elite but he does all the compliance work for Peter anyway

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Just been to have a look at it, very tidy car all round really. The upholstery seems to be in excellent condition, it has 4 fairly decent Advan Neovas on it (somewhat lacking in air however!)

Only thing I could fault with the bodywork is that the rear bumper isn't sitting quite right on the right rear corner, it's not bad but here's a pic anyway.

Hope this helps

Thanks alot for that. I take it you couldnt smell tobacco either? Seems to be a common problem with any of the leather ones we have looked at.

Hmm, now to decide if its worth taking a trip to Palmy to look at it as well as a mechanical inspection.

I can't say it smelt like tobacco, but it did smell of groomers silicone

Just a quick bump, were there any other places that could be good to get it checked out? Have negotiated a verbal price deal depending on pre purcahse inspection etc. He's suggested VINZ as the usual option, but thought I would throw it out to you locals again just in case theres a better option.
