Thanks team , for making this series possible. Big thanks to Sam and Tristan for stepping up to take some of the load off the Daytona staff by assisting them and for sorting the placings on the night while I raced. Saved me and clint a ton of administrative time.
HUGE thanks to the Daytona Staff for allowing us to:
1. Race under price
2. Race over time
3. Dictate how we wanted to race
4. Run a meeting in reverse.
You guys bent over backwards for us, and it showed in the popularity of the series, the standard of organisation and the quality of racing.
This was the first time they have run a public session on the track in reverse as well. Thanks for having faith in us not killing ourselves, your karts or your staff and proving the Bennet Street track is more versatile than we all thought.
Toyota NZ, Repco and Autostripes, through Clint, Tristan and myself, without the trophy logos and prizes, this series would have been lame.
An NZPC magazine photographer took a couple of pics of one of our 18sec club logos on Snoozins car in Wellington and we have had a mention (albeit through a letter) in their publication.
So... where to from here.
Car club kart racing is now on the map. Next stop is the proposed Import Tuner Kart Series.
For this to work we need volunteers to help run it, source sponsors and prizes and most of all, recruit other clubs and their drivers.
We need 5 drivers per club per month.
So far we have the following teams:
1. Team Asylum - Club Rep: Clint Beaumont
2. Toyspeed.org.nz - Club Rep: Someone step up
3. NZHondas.com - Club Rep: Josh (Bl4ckt0p)
4. Primeracarclub.co.nz - Club Rep: TBA
Toyspeed needs a rep to organise their own team so someone stick your hand up please. You also need drivers, so lets see some names. Your team can have different drivers each round as long as there are 5 on the track.
Me, Clint and Cole are out as we are racing as Team Asylum.
Richard is out as hes racing for NZHondas.
If there are enough of you, you can enter 2 teams OR enter a half-assed motorsport team?
So start brain storming and hunting ideas, people and support so we can get this beast going and start racing again... soon.
Post ideas here or pm or txt me.
