front bumper

Hey palmy massive

was wondring if anyone new wat the law is on chopping up front bumpers, like cutting out some of a front bumper to put a intercooler in it ? ( by chop i mean cut with a proper plastic welder/cutter/ ) the intercooler wud fit in the bumper without having to cut out the hole middle of the bumper. i just dont want to go get certed then have to buy a new bumper :/
