Upcoming trackdays at Manfeild

Postby Truenotch » Thu Nov 06, 2008 8:06 pm

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you all know about a few events that are coming up.

December 2008

December 21 Xmas Autocross and Sprint. This is the final round of the Road&Track Sprint Series. We will have a sealed Autocross in the morning and then move to the front track for the Sprint series. There will be a BBQ afterwards at the clubrooms, which is covered in thee entry fee. Regs and entry forms here shortly

January 2009

January 31 Multi Event Weekend. Starting at Manfeild a sealed motorkhana and sprint will start the festitivities before moving to Graham Buchanan's place for a grass autocross final on Sunday afternoon. Regs and entry forms here soon.

February 2009

1 February 2009. Mag&Turbo Track Day. What a way to celebrate the new year by running a track day. Regs and entries available soon but book this date now!! This is an Open clubsport day, all that's required to enter is a safe car, a helmet, overalls and a fire extinguisher.

http://www.motorsportmanawatu.org.nz/NewsAndUpdates

Also just a side note; we've been offered the chance to share the Mag and Turbo Trackday on the first of Feb, provided we can get enough entries. So it would be the Mag and Turbo / Toyspeed trackday, Motorsport Manawatu were so impressed by the last Toyspeed day.

Can you post these events to the events section please Brad?

Do it Jimmy! Looking forward to seeing your new car up close.

Safety gear needed is a Helmet, cotton overalls ant a 1kg fire extinguisher with steel bracket mounted into the car. But you may be able to run without the extinguisher since we will have a good number at the marshal points.

How much chance is there for car vs car collision for someone inexperienced (never raced) before.

Very little if you've never raced before. In the morning we are doing a single car sealed autocross with 10-15sec gaps between the cars. Then in the afternoon you can run in the Single car sprints, which consists of 3 laps around the front track with (again) a 10-15 second gap between cars. At drivers briefing the drivers will be instructed to pass courteously as there will be more then 1 driver with limited experience.

Nothing to worry about, I haven't seen any car to car contact at a clubsport event.

Probably smart to be pretty definite in mid / latish jan. They usually take entries on the day, but since you are traveling so far it would be smart to pre-enter.
