Round 1 and 2 of the Road and track sprint series are coming up next weekend.

April 4th and 5th, Manfeild park - Feilding

Bring your car out and have a go, the road and track series runs single and dual car sprints and caters for both road and race cars.

No race license required for single car sprints, so no problems there!

Note:

April 4th is run by the Alfa club and April 5th is run by Motorsport Manawatu, so if you want to enter both days make sure you fill out the 2 forms.

Regs and entry forms can be found here:

Oh, and it says that earlybird entry closed on wednesday 1st of march, but I think it is supposed to be Wednesday April 1st as early entries normally close the week before the event for sprints + 1st of march was a sunday.

If you want more information give me a PM, post a message or give julian a call at Sport Manawatu.

hey guys on the note of road and track have you heard of the RS cup yet? Julian came and talked to our motorsport class on wednesday and it sound like a bloody good series. Really cheap to get into as well i think cars need to have a half cage and not be able to lap manfield in less than 1:32 and thats about it. Check out motorsport manawatu website for more info.

Yeah RS cup is going to be cool.

The cars have to lap in 1:32 or slower and can be road cars or race cars.

If you have a WOF / Reg road car then all you need to enter is a helmet and overalls, race license and club membership.

If your car isn't road legal it needs a MSNZ approved half cage fitted, Timo (Octane Automotive) has offered to do a basic one for $500. If you have a half cage then you will also need a current harness and most likely a fixed back bucket seat as well.

Good, cheap, fun racing.

Julian is also offering a startup package for $1000 for people interested in the RS Cup

I believe it includes:
Helmet
Overalls
Harness
Fire Extinguisher
Race lincence
Motorsport Manawatu Membership (1 year)
Entry for 1st round of winter series

Thats just off the top of my head, but im fairly sure its accurate

Yeah that was the deal, really basic though. I think it was just going to be a hoop and two back stays. No diagonals or seatbelt anchors.

It must have a diagonal otherwise it doesn't meet minimum MSNZ standards, and Timo will definitely know that 8)

Hmm i may or may not get there. Anyone got a muffler the don't need lying around the place, i can see the baffles on mine by looking from a position just in front of the rear axle.
Otherwise i won't be able to afford to toast any more of the supercats lol
