Ok, there will only be a few people able to help out with this.
I'm doing a rally sprint on the 7th of june over in hawkes bay, just lately the missus has enlarged slightly and no longer fits her race suit which was tight to begin with. Would take someone else but the wife has said she want's to go for a ride to see what al the fus is about soooooooo anyone got a race suit i can borrow for the day, preferably from the night before till sunday afternoon - seeing as it's only a clubsport advanced event single layer or cotton overalls would be sweet.
Also going to be doing gravel sprint down in levin 2 weeks after the 7th, be able to take people for rides provided they can show up with helmet and overalls, have intercom to suit full face helmets and if any ones keen the event organisers are doing pace notes as well - anyone whose keen let me know. also i may be looking for a co-driver for this years daybreaker.
Cheers
Jamie

Plan on doing more than just the sprint in levin and hb, probably one in wairarapa as well but don't know yet. Might do taupo instead of day breaker - all depends on funds available at the time of course.

... Provided the Daybreaker goes ahead.

The committee haven't decided whether to do it / not do it / change it in a way that makes it affordable, since there aren't many Rally cars doing much ATM... We had 45 cars last year incl 20 rally extreme, no rally extreme this year and only 10 competing in central regions makes it hard to commit with 40 or less entrants that "might" be there.

I hear that, seeing as last years entry fee was $600 + 200 for notes which is about standard for the notes and for a round of something but not to affordable for people just doing it as a one off for fun without sponsers - aka 60% of the competitors. Unfortunately road closures through the council are costing an arm, leg and 3 toes which means that costs to competitors are increased by council prices. Just another reason why hugh baird and taupo look quite attractive price wise because they are run on forestry roads not requiring road closures (cows don't read road closure notices anyhow i found out last year  )
Hence why, unless i can find a sponser, i won't be doing more than 1-2 rallys this year, another reason is the guys i had lined up to put a bit of money into my car and entrys last year can't do so now because of the way people aren't spending anymore. Will probably put their stickers on the car anyhow as when the money comes right they will still be keen to get behind me.
Hopefully tho daybreaker will happen and be affordableish - even around the same cost as last year would be ok - and i'l be there

Hopefully i might be able to keep up with you not using notes :) i hear brendon has pretty much got himself soted only losing his place once on the possum?? YFC ftw on keeping up with things :D

I think they have to pay per KM on forrestry roads normally dont they?

Price wont go up, it will be the same or cheaper. If it runs as a club rally it will be $400 and no notes, which would consist of 1/2 of Stage 6 (Pakihikura) and a mixture of Mcbeth (Stage7), Stage 9, Umutoi (stage 8) and Ridge Rd (stage 10). All based out of Kimbolton, 3 stages before lunch and 3 stages after. Thats the more affordable option at this point (Without using roads twice).

That sounds good enough for me. Would also mean i could do it on half a set of tires and not have to buy a whole new set specifically for the day breaker mint.
Even tho they have to pay per km for forestry roads it works out alot less than for public bugger the local govt

bloody farmers... haha. yea he was good on notes. i go quicker without them at the moment though. Just have to leave enough margin for error on corners that tighten! You'll probably beat me in the tail dragger, my gonads seem to shrivel coming up to crests... I see that daybreaker is going to be clubmans level this year? Trying out my new lsd this weekend muahaha

:P Agree on local Govt. Didn't think about the Tyre and gas savings though! Makes the shorter rally more appealing again... for this year at least.

I see that daybreaker is going to be clubmans level this year?

Yeah all hanging in the balance ATM, central region series is sanctioned with MSNZ so might have to run under a national rally permit to accomodate for those 10 cars :? ... We're working on what will be the best option for current economics etc.

yer thats a pain... is it worth it or not? Theres a lack of club rallies since tauranga didnt run this year. hugh baird etc still i spose. but i would guess a few guys from my region would make the trek down for a clubmans event... i know a few of us (at least 4) arent doing the full waitomo cos we cant afford it, doing the "mini" waitomo instead, just the afternoon stages run in clubman format, no notes etc. so those guys may be keen for club level daybreaker...

^^ thanks for your input guys, it's really interesting to hear from actual competitors - have had a lack of that at the comittee meetings etc. What is it costing to do Hugh beard and Mini waitomo?

not sure on hugh baird. but mini waitomo is $250. good value, 4 stages 75km. not much more outlay than a rallysprint really.
