Invercargill Mid-Winter Drags
WHEN: Sunday, August 20th 2006
WHERE: Teretonga Park Raceway
AT: 11am ish?

If you're racing you have to be there by 9am for scruitineering i think.

Unlikely i'll be racing but will try head down to it.

Alexandra Drag Racing
WHEN: Sunday, September 24th 2006 (i assume)
WHERE: Alexandra Airport - about 3-4 mins west of the town (signposted)
AT: 11am usually, scruitineering is about 8am or so.

I'll be heading to that too, probably won't be racing but will see what happens between then and now.

Yeah Right.
its worthy of a tui billboard. I know they try & im not intenionally knocking the guys who set it up & run this awsome event, but i've been going since i was about 10 & in all those times something always gets in the way of them having an event that runs smoothly, things not always under there control too.
& wasn't the timing gear new last time & they had only used it a few times? if so i think they did well with what they had.

Ill be heading to the blossy drags again, hopefully not so hungover as last year.
We gona do the whole convoy thing again?

Jeez, hope it isn't the last. :(

Anywho, there may or may not be a small convoy heading up there on Sunday, once again leaving from East Taieri (in the vicinity of the dairy) at 7:30am on the dot. Won't be taking the Skyline (no WoF since May and rego is on hold 'till December 20) but i will be in a slow dark blue/purple metallic Mazda MS-6.

Will likely only have one stop, toilet break in either Roxburgh or Alex and then continue on to the airport.

Be there or be circle. 8)

And the reason for the early (i'd ideally leave at about 7am but oh well) start is so that you get a park right beside the runway/drag strip.

who else is gona run the drags? i thought that the guys from invercargill drags (what ever there name is) would be the only ones with enough experience etc to run them properly.
I mean yes oscc run timed bent sprints etc & road races, but i wouldnt of thought they had the experince to run drags, especially since its been years since they've had quarter miles on the evening before the festival of speed.
Or is the promoters of the cromwell motorsport park trying to get some advance practice in the hope they'll get resource consent to bulid their circuit & drag strip etc.
