Teretonga open/track day Oct 15

There is an open day at teretonga on the 15th of this month if anyone is interested?

Drive around the best motor racing circuit in New Zealand in a friendly enviroment and get invoved with Motor Sport without spending top dollars

Cars must be in top mechanical (WOF) order with good tyres, suitably inflated

A mechanical and safety check must be passed. Noise limit 95 dba

Drivers must hold valid civil drivers license (parents permission for under 18)

Crash helmets required, no passengers to be carried

Fee is $50 per driver - payable at the pit office from 12:30 onwards.

Cars will be separated into categories. Each session will consist of 10- 15 mins on the circuit

Special conditions apply - no racing allowed

Drivers Briefing 1:30pm - all drivers must attend a briefing before using the circuit

Report to pit office on circuit infield on arrival

cut off time for registration will be 2pm

spectators a gold coin donation.


This has been copied by me from an add in the southland time newspaper from the 7th of october.

I will not be going as I was down there last weekend and have too much to do this one (also the wife won't let me)

No racing means that you are not allowed to go there with one of your mates and try to run each other off the track. You are presumably allowed to do some fast laps although the last time I went to one of these (it was free then) I got sent off for trying to hard. :twisted: :twisted:

In those days I was using a escort 1600 sport with a few mods to it. I still miss that car even if it did rust out from underneath me
