Well after trying to sort the "using water" issue with a new head gasket (bad batch of fuel was the idea since it had just had a tank of 98 put in and had blown no. 1 plug to bits) the issue was still there... and now there was coolant in the oil. Yay. Pulled head off again, welded up the coolant galleries and drilled them out. All back together, pressurising the cooling system straight away and oil milky straight away too. This was costing me lots in oil.

Decided to take the whole motor out, strip it and see what we could find. Number one seemed to be the main cause for concern as it was the one that seemed to be leaking pretty bad. After constantly being told it must be an issue in the head, we found a crack in the top of the bore on number one. Currently waiting on a sleeve for number and hopefully should all be going next weekend.

hmmm, I seem to recall that someone said that "imports are cheap and plentyful" or something along those lines.

Just get a Hyundai or a Holden, and grow the mullet... you know you want to.
