Only one in New Zealand

Postby SkylineObsession » Tue Jun 27, 2006 8:41 pm

Went and saw this today at Armstrong Prestige (lower Princess St near Turbo Shop);

Mercedes-Benz CLK AMG DTM. :twisted: This is the only one in New Zealand, and i think there were only ever 100 made in the world?). Not going to be there forever though, so best see it while you can. 8)

I know the sales manager there and if he wasn't so busy i would have asked him if i could open the bonnet/sit in it/go on a test drive/take it home etc. Those 20" wheels are huge though, and really suit the car. :)

If this really is one of 100, then it was definately worth seeing and taking pics of. The car has about 580 hp, but its a bit sad that i never heard it going. :cry:

It was built to celebrate Merc winning the DTM racing series in Germany. It's not your average merc with some phat guards.

20's at the back and 19's on the front

Apparently it is privately owned and costs somewhere between NZ$500,000 and $1,000,000. 8O And the pictures don't do the wheels justice unfortunately.

I think it is only automatic because they couldn't find a clutch or something than could handle the 800nM of torque or whatever. :?

Glad to see I wasn't mad when I thought that I saw that a few months ago.

viewtopic.php?t=43832

And I would definatly have one, it is more racer converted to the road than your average mercedes.
