Finally A decision has been made!!!!

Postby cozmoid » Sun Aug 06, 2006 8:05 pm

It's only taken a year but I have finally decided what to do with repowering my AE70 notchback

I was thinking of a 4AGE or 3SGE conversion but sorta wanna keep the theme of the car original. These engines are far too new for my chassis so

My car used to come out as a GT TE71 with a 2T 1600cc twin cam engine.
This is goin to be my choice. I am going to make it into a GT.
Its going to be a bit of a job but some of the details and parts are already confirmed

What I can get!
2t block with oversized pistons etc (becomes 1800cc)
Head and cams etc is no prob (will be mildly ported)
My cousin is going to build the engine (he has the wicked blue KE30)
TE71 crossmember

What I need!!
Supra gear box
XT corona rearend
bellhousing for t series engine to w series box
Silvertop quad throttles!
Link computer
Custom intake manifold

If anyone can help me on my search for these parts please message me or leave a post

Cheers
RWD Oldskool Forever!

you need a 3T crank and pistons to get the 1770cc, but with 89mm pistons this will be closer to 2 litre.

to use a W box, you can get a W40 corona bellhousing and fit the w-50 box, or the 3TGT bell and use W-55/7/8 box.

ideally you need to buy a manual 3T corona pre-82 as a donor for parts.

i do have a w-40/50-> T bellhousing, but may need it myself, but will investigate others.
essentially, you won't need the TE71 x-member, as the AE70 has the same mounts.

yup sure am :D

We just sorta clicked that that would be the most sensible cost effective plan :P

Sorta keeps the whole TE71 theme to the car too

your telling me damos only spent $4k on that rolla, TOTAL?!

you just said hes just spent that on pistons and cams, not to mention the ecu, quads, and everything else done to the car not the engine lol.

ive spent what on the mr2, performance mods total $0, and maintaince still only tops the $100-200 mark lol.

how much hp is this 2t/3t hybrid putting out?

The engine I will be getting wont be nowhere near the shit that damo's doin to his new engine. It should be around the HP of his last engine when you raced it cozmo nz. Except with quad throttles!! so hopefully we can have a good race!!!!
