Hey guys its been a LONG while since ive posted here but since im back in the country for good.... and I actualy own a toyota this time round (ahhh gt leggy how i miss thee boosting) I figured Id get back onto toyspeed. but anyway thats neither here nor there...

SO a couple weeks ago I decided I would get my ae 101 a new link ecu.... so I got online found links adverts and used a buy now.... 2 days later my shinney ecu arrives and My mate andrew started to install it in place of the existing wolf 3d.... ( locked firmware my ass!).

After the install was completed we towed the car down to turbo shop and I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly mike lynn who managed to get all the car fully tuned and running better than I could have hoped for in only 1 day.......

I just thought I would post this because I know alot of ppl like to bag turbo shop but this last experience was for me very positive. Not only did he do a great job tuning the car but he put up with myself and andrew asking him many questions during the install process and he took alot of time to explain exactly how to solve whatever problem we came across.

I for one will be going to them from now on.

its two tone blue and grey with a rather silly silver gt wing..... goes very hard tho with a new link and black top cams :P

I might have to pop in and see whether he knows if the Link will play well with the 2zz or not, there seems to be some trouble with getting the "Lift" bit of vvtl-i going properly with after market ECUs with only Hydra and PowerFC in the market... and only then, none for my varient, so they'd both be wire in jobs... and if it has to be wired in, I may aswell support an Nz product.

the lift part? are you sure? as thats quite simple.... just a swtich really.
its the VVT part i thought would be the hardest.

btw keep the switch point the same as stock

now thats an interesting point to make... almost everyone in the US thats playing with the 2zz(Toyota Celica/Matrix/Corolla XRS and Pontiac Vibe) have found that changing it slightly lower(to ~5500RPM has found that they get a higher and smoother torque curve, as in, prior to changing it, it looks like it is being choked from 4800-6000.

Could you tell me why you say that Revhead?

i had a rathe rinteresting conversation with lynn rogers about them a while ago. as you know he does the TRS engines and after dyno testing he found the stock point ot be the best as thats where the torque curves of the 2 profiles intersect.
