New Awesome Job!!

Postby cozmoid » Sun Jan 28, 2007 12:17 am

Yes it's true
I have had a early life crisis
I hated my job as a recruitment consultant but I loved the money dammit

So I bit the bullet and found myself a apprenticeship at Total Automotive here in dunedin
And now im a really happy TSer
I chose the best place to work.
We specialise in classic's, race cars and transmissions so i get to play with lots of cool stuff
here is a sample of what i have drove and worked on so far
1999 Aston Martin DB7 supercharged straight six (drool)
1960 Ford thunderbird
E type roadster
E type hardtop
E type V12
Many Mk2 Jag's including a 400hp racecar
Many XJ6, XJ8, XJ12, X300 and X400 jags all late model
Many many mercs and BMW's incl a M3 and a SL500 some kompressors etc
1980 911 porsche race car
1970 GT6 triumph coupe
Fiat spyder
Triumph TR8 V8 racecar
HWM jaguar singleseater racecar
Jaguar C type (le mans winner)
1929 Buick
1917 Ford Model T
1960 912 Porsche (very retro cool)
1980 Dx corolla wagon getting a CA18de conversion
Triumph Vitesse racecar
1969 Ford Mustang
1979 Chevrolet Corvette
Bigblock Chevelle 451 cubic inch V8

The list goes on and on
What a majorly cool job but I have really badly scarred hands now but thats ok

Hopefully 1 day I will have my own business restoring classics like im doing now at work. Lots of money and a low stress job that I get to use my brain. It's great!

I know toyota's are awesomely reliable cars but if you ever want any help or just a chat about ur ride come see me. My work has a really good reputation. We also have a rolling road dyno and some of the newest diagnostic computers to help with pesky problems(error codes and SRS or ABS problems etc)
Im always happy to help outside of work too but that dosen't mean I will do all the work for you. I like to help people that don't mind gettin their hands dirty

Never forget
RWD forever!

Ok
Brown mark 2
Vented bonnet
Willwood 4 pot brakes at the front
Triple 45mm weber carbs
4.2 litre straight six
Dry Sump
Massive radiator
Custom neat rollcage
Twin race seats etc
And $120 000ish spent on the engine!!!! :o

If u wanna see it wait till the Festival of speed. It will be there.

But my god it makes the sweetest, angriest noise. If anyone works in the wharf area they would have heard it!

By the way a Shelby AC Cobra replica showed up at work today! It's chrome extractors reach all the way outside the car and down along the sills!!!!

hehe yeah seems that way. We have had a rover hatch on a hoist for 2 weeks! And it ain't the first 1! Never buy a rover or a CVT trans vehicle!

We have had the DB7 back again. It wasn't running right. Strange sensor ECU problem but it's sweet now. Check her out

Note in the background the
Triumph Vitesse 2.5L 2 door twiple weber sidedraughts etc full race setup
HWM Jaguar 4.2L Single seater, dry sump, massive cams, triple weber sidedraughts etc
U can also see the supalights from the MK 2 jag racecar on the hoist
Image
Furkn Gorgeous
But under that curvacious body lurks a rather simple chassis, drivetrain straight from a Series 3 Jaguar
