28th JULY, lEVELS RACEWAY , TIMARU

Postby fangsport » Wed Jun 27, 2007 7:23 pm

1/4 mile, 'go->whoa', autocross and maybe circuit sprints.

documentation and scutineering from 7.30-9am.

$60 entry fee.

standard safety gear required, see other post.

i have mentioned to a few people on various forums that if enough of you guys get motivated, that there could be a Makes Team grudge, with the winning team having ultimate bragging rights. would also be a good follow up for the recent behaviour of the southern TV stars!!

So do competitors need to be members of a car club or does sccc do day licences?

if we don't run the circuit, membership and licences don't apply.

i will apply for a permit for all of the options, and depending on the make-up of the competitors, will be the deciding factor.

FYI a Clubsport licence is not needed for autocross or 1/4 miles.

Not sure what the go->whoa is; I'm guessing an acceleration/brake test so I doubt you'll need a licence for that either.

Not sure with circuit sprints though? I think it depends on the format - ie I'm pretty sure if they're multi car a Clubsport is needed.

Good time to renew my licence anyway... :)

I was just checking if it was nessacary for this event as it sounds like a bit of fun.
I really should get around to getting my clubsport licence anyway, so i can do some actual track days rather than just thinking about them or watching them.

the entire event is clubsport basic, so no licence is needed.

Ray, i suppose a bunch of Subarus lunching themselves on the track counts for a win :? if the 20v wannabees don't want to prove they are slow  , and the VTAK Queens are all on the bank looking pretty

My Trueno has over 9000 horsepower and can bend the space time continuum whist simultaneously making tofu deliverys 5000 miles away in Kyoto, resulting in lapping the levels track in -42 seconds.

Maybe next time.
