Dunedin mechanics

Postby Cicak » Sat Feb 23, 2008 12:14 pm

I was wondering if anyone knew a good cheap place to go to, for some car maintenance.

I'll need to get a coolant flush, an oil change, and a brake pad change. Is there anyone here that is a mechanic? or can recommend a mechanic?

Thanks!!

Colin @ Mowat's Auto next to Repco is good. Just done some work on my blacktop Carib. Clean job, good price.

Centre City Auto Repairs is another recommended place. I know all the guys there, one is in Southern Skylines, and they all do great work (or have done to my car anyway - never take it anywhere else).

I have tuned a apexi electronic boost controller Super avc-i or something. Pretty flash but easy. Do u have the manual? And if not is it available on the net? What exactly is the brand, and is it just boost or duty cycle and rpm controllable settings etc?

Its a DPR one I bought off driven performance. Yeah it came with a manual and wiring diagram etc. Boost and duty cycles I am pretty sure, no rpm settings I don't think.

Here is link to it:

That looks like it would be pretty easy to install and tune. Ya wouldn't wanna try anything too extreme unless u could put it on a dyno and gas analyser. Unfortunatly u have a 4wd vehicle those dynos are xpensive but if u atleast can tune it with a gas sniffer u should be sweet.
