MRP Custom made Performance Coilovers - Exceptional Quality!

Postby Bazda » Tue Aug 02, 2011 1:42 pm

Hi Guys,

MRP Corolla coilovers + some other models listed below. We have sold over 200 sets of these, the feedback has been fantastic!. Bang for buck vs Performance & Quality these can't be beaten.

At present we are stocking -
Corolla AE82/92/101/111
AE86
MR2 AW11
GT Starlet
RX7 FD/FC
B14 Sentra
Evo 1-6

These are similar coilovers I have been running on the Levin since 2006 and won superlap with them! They are outstanding coilovers for the price you pay and the bonus is we custom valve each set and do alot of the designs in NZ before they go into production!
This ensures you get proper spec'd shocks.

These will be available in street/sport (race)

They come with a 1 year warranty with us and we will provide on going support if you end up damaging parts or need new shocks!,

I cant stress the quality these are!! and for the price!!! you wont find anything better.

Check out the pics!, performance tested since 2006 and everyone has been 100% happy with their results. Excellent ride quality and performance.

All our coilovers come with the following features:
Springs rates will be your choice
Pillow ball mounts with Japanese made bearings Front & Rear
Aluminium camber plates (Front only)
Optional rear adjustable camber plate
12 way adjustable shock absorber
Extra strong steel powder coated lower mounts
Fine threaded anodised bodies to reduce locking nuts from coming loose & corossion
1 piece designed spring perch for easy pre load adjustment
Specially designed non slip C spanners
IP Synthetic shock oil
Double O-ring seals
46mm internal piston
Mono tube (Inverted optional)
All factory brackets for brake lines & anti roll bar mount points
Shock Dyno graph

AE92/101/111

AW11 MR2

EP70/82/91 Starlet

$1350 incl to Toyspeed members (RRP $1400)

Also our inverted versions:

Priced to order (but generally around $1700-1800), fully custom valved and your choice of spring rates.

From 2013 all our Corolla FWD coilovers come with extended rear damper adjusters.
Meaning you don't need to remove the rear seats and tray to make changes, just a simple hole in the parcel tray for these to poke through.

Question time :)

Do you have any information on how they will be valved? I'm guessing the linear piston/digressive piston refers to the valving characteristics in the pistons (i.e. no high speed blowoff on the "linear")
Although you don't specifically mention it, I assume they'll be adjustable, just rebound or combined bump/rebound adjustment?
Will shock dyno plots be available?
Is the strut housing/threaded portion steel or aluminium?

Too easy Malcolm.

1. Linear refers to the valving characteristics yes, I can request dyno plots for street/sport/race. I am requesting more info on the shocks from them at present and waiting on reply.

2. Adjustable bound/rebound combined as the normal. The bound is the main one effected by adjustments, rebound is not effective a great deal. Thats how they all are on the market unless you buy 2 way adjustable shocks.
I have selected a 10 point adjustment. I find the 30x ones are so minimal between 1 click that you make 5 clicks at a time anyway to notice a difference

3. The threaded portion is stainless steel clear anodised :)

Cheers Barry.

Not all dampers on the market combine bump and rebound if they're only 1-way adjustable, only most :P I'll look forward to seeing what you get in terms of graphs, but TBH I'm not really interested in linear dampers.

I wish someone would make housings that allowed straightforward fitment of insert-type dampers, so you could put some nice Konis or similar into a proper height adjustable housing like these. They look like nice quality but I've spent too much time learning about vehicle dynamics to settle for the dampers they like to put into most coilovers.

Malcolm, the Fortune Auto would be best for you then :).

Since you mentioned the above, we are working with the factory to design ones where we can drop in Koni or Bilstein!!!!!!!!!!. I have not said anything yet as we are still working on the designs and sizes needed for this. There are so many shocks sizes I need to figure out whats the most commonly purchased ones.

If you have more of an idea on what your after I can work with you.

The Fortune Auto ones look nice, but I think they're only doing them for SW20s?

At the moment I'm just going to stick with Konis and notsurewhat springs, accepting that since I'm not racing I don't need lots of adjustment, but if something good ever comes up for the AW11 I may well jump on it.

If you're interested in developing housings that'll suit the AW11 and take inserts, I'd be very keen to get in on helping out/getting involved if you're open to it.

What would you suggest for some decent camber adjustability on the rear of an AE92 Levin?

Potentially very interested

Custom sliding top hats.
I dont supply them, sure I can make them but I dont have the time now!
If I was to get my factory who does my coilovers to make them, they would require a minimum number, something like 30 pairs!

Our custom made coilovers are finished.
Ready to be shipped out. I think the guys who bought these will be very happy :).

We intend to bring more models into the NZ market - These are really well priced at $1250 incl!!!!! and the quality is top notch! Again I have to stress this company makes coilovers for leading brands in Japan.

We beefed up the spring perch and made it a 1-piece design for much easier adjustment!
Image

The shock body is a super fine thread - This reduces the chance of the locking ring that holds the lower mount coming loose.
Image

Sick of crappy C-spanners? Check out what we came up with.

We have also custom valved each set to our desired valving preferences.
At present we offer street or sport valving.

Sample of the shock dyno for an AE82 set.
All sets come with their own shock dyno graph!

These all sounds pretty awesome.

Now I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to adjustable coil overs and what not

I may be looking to get set for a sc400 (same as the sc300 but V8). I might be looking at doing a few track days, drag meets and skids here and there. It would be driven most of the time.

Would I be best at looking at the 'track' type option or is street more suited?

Are they easy to set up in the car height wise?

Cheers.

Hey

I would go with out sport valving for what you describe.
Full track valving is VERY stiff. Also wouldn't be good for the drags.

They are very easy to setup and come with a full 3 pages of instructions on how to adjust, what not to do etc.

Hey

No electronic controlled dampers at this stage, maybe later in the future.
Yes you can have rear Celica GT4 hub mounts thats no worries.
Deposits will end mid Jan.

At present our factory takes around 3-4 weeks to produce the coilovers.
Then another 3 weeks shipping by sea to us.
So you have plenty of time to save up!
