Dash bulb colours/covers

Postby JDogg » Thu May 06, 2004 1:58 am

I just pulled out my dash display in my AE101 Levin and replaced a blown bulb (can now easily see my speed at night, yay!) however, I kinda ripped the blue rubber cover for the old bulb, so now where the new bulb is the speedo looks white/orange instead of that nice green colour...

I just bought a normal aftermarket bulb for replacement, do I have to get an original with blue cover from Toyota, or is there an easy fix here...? Any input appreciated, Cheers.

Ok, just some general advice for anyone replacing a dash bulb in future, as mentioned in other threads, always replace ALL bulbs in the dash when you do it. I found that the one new bulb illuminated the dash a different colour... :? of course I didnt find this out till nightfall... hence I'll be back to the Auto Electrician for more bulbs tomorrow to change the others.

Oh, and thanks for the tip, the pack of Narva silicone sleeves was just what I was after.
