GTZ STANDARD COMPUTER QUES

Just a question..

Im not particularly keen on spending $2000 to $2500 on a new computer for my GTZ, just want to know if i got an extra injector installed, and got a fuel cut defender. Would my standard computer be sweet with handling like say 18 to 20 pounds of boost?

Yeh i know that GTZ's are known for the "running out of breath" problem, but if i drive my car for around 5 or 10 minutes that goes away, so im not 2 worried about that.

Buying a fuel cut defender and the extra injector would work out way cheaper!! I know that you wouldnt be able to tune it and all that, and i know that it will only run ok, not wonderful!

Any help would be appreciated...

this is ofcoarse if a turbo is fitted..not for when its supercharged...

I don't think the GTZ ECU has a fuel cut for overboost - sort of impossible to do that with a SC, which is what the ECU is designed to work with for controling fuelling.

The Stock ECU is mapped out to 15psi or there abouts, so if you are going to be going over that, you'll need a supplemental fueling controller to control an extra injector, or a replacement/parallell EFI ECU to control uprated Injectors.

Mind you, a well choosen Turbo + FMIC will provide more power at the same boost, many 'cos the Turbo won't run out of puff over 5500rpm like the SC does...

Also remember the "choice" timing map the stock ecu has when used with a turbo. Ask EVLGTZ if he still has the original dyno chart showing where the power dies off. And yep, they've got a fuel cut.

yep I prob wundt waste my time going turbo on a map ze without going aftermarket ecu. wont reap the full benefits.
