oil in intake? st185

Postby flygt4 » Sat May 15, 2004 12:50 pm

hey.juss pulling apart the intake on my st185.is it normal for there to be oil in the intake piping?my piping seems to be coated in a thin layer of oil on the inside , im wondering where its coming from.its in the piping after afm and before turbo..also a small amount between turbo and intercooler.
there is a crack in one of the intake elbows maybe its getting sucked in thru there?i hav fixed it now tho.

Yeah, it is normal to have some oil in the intake piping. It's just from turbocharger blow-by. It shouldn't be excessive though. Nothing to worry about.
