3tgte turbo problems

Postby dohca » Sat May 15, 2004 9:52 pm

hey all
alright my newly purchased ta63 celica has issues lol,
under boost it doesent seem to be running right, ive checked the obvious no leaks afm works ok, you can rev 1st out ok, 2nd sorta splutters really bad and the same with every other gear, you get to say 4000rpm and it dies.

also wtf do the two led's on the dash board represent? the green one and yellow one... my green one comes on for like a millisecond and the yellow one comes on all the time under "boost"

anyone know what they stand for??

Cheers

green is boost inrichment and should be on at all times over 2.2psi of boost, yellow means fuel cut..

these are controlled by pressure switches, PE(Pressure enrich, the green led) needs to be connected to ground perminatly or ran through a pressure switch that ideally switches on any pressure at all.

same with boost cut, grounded means no boost cut condition, whatever u do, do not disconnect this, it has soooo saved my engine so many times, mine goes off at 10psi, but its actaully ment to be 7.5.

on my car the boost cut/fuel cut is orange, and the PE is green.

however it depends how your car is wired, they may have wired it as yellow as boost enrich and green boost cut, but i doubt it.

im currently running a 3tgte with rb20det turbo stock ecu etc. rx7 intercooler and 5psi.
