Running with out a TPS

Ive been having trouble with my idle, its to high like 3 grand sumtimes 8O , so i playing with the tps and it has fallen off but it runs the same with out it is it ok to drive with out the throttle position sensor.

You can, but you'll lose power and fuel economy.

I guess if it fell off and runs the same than it wasnt working anyway...at least you know what to replace first!
