4 Throttle Bodies 4 Air Filters

Postby DOHMAN » Fri May 21, 2004 1:21 pm

IS IT WORTH PUTTING A AIR FILTER ON EACH THROTTLE BODY ON A AE111, DOES IT GIVE ANY ADVANTAGE THAN JUST HAVING 1 POD FILTER ON THERE, DO YOU HAVE TO PUT TRUMPETS ON THERE OR CAN YOU USE THE ORIGINAL BLACK TUBES THAT ARE ON THERE. THE OTHER THING IS THE FACT OF COLD AIR WERE DO YOU GET IT WITH 4 AIRFILTERS.

yea it probably would be recommended but me and my mate's just have the factory trumpets poking up with no air filter at the mo till we get our 107mm bell mouthed trumpets made up. i found that u loss a bit of low end torque and gets a fair bit of hot air but other than that it sounds real nice aye.

must of put you funny undies on today mroizo anyway thats not what im worried about, whats if you cant get cold air to the sperate air filters what advantage would you get over just having 1 pod with a cold air box apart for all the noise that it makes.

Yes I have an AE111

In our experience with quite a few of these you'd gain a couple of horsepower up top but you'd lose quite a bit of your driveability down low.
In short the thing would rev really freely and not go anywhere fast.
You're better of to stick with your CAI & single pod.
We're presently testing an item that we hope to make available which should improve mid range pick up considerably - at a reasonable cost. Keep watching.

more noise doesnt always mean more advantage dont forget the saying all noise no go i still dont see the point in seperate airfilters cause all they do is suck in the engine bay heat unless you design away to make a cold air intake for them the only way i can think of is if you make a bottom less box over the top of them.

good call dude hondas are all noise no go still doesnt answer my question though is it worth the hassle putting seperate air filters on, there is one car down here in whakatane that has done it its a old corolla about an 85 maybe it has a silver top in it a link computer and sperate air filters dont know how fast it is doesnt actually make that much inductuion noise though.

he can prob make the most of that type of setup due to having the aftermarket ecu and ability to tune it with that setup.

IMO with std ecu prob best off to stay with that cold air induction setup you have now.
