4AGZE stalling and stuff...

Postby Pelo » Sun May 23, 2004 7:19 pm

1. My car has just started randomly stalling, usually when in neutral slowing down. The revs will drop right down to 500 or so and then it stops. Mostly once it has warmed up. Starting it and idling is fine. Any ideas what is causing this?

2. Where is the oil cooler?!? I can't find it...

3. Where do I put an oil temp gauge sensor bulb and boost gauge hose?

4. Where can I get redline gearbox oil...?

Cheers, Chris.

lots people had this problem with their gtz engines stalling. check all your vacuum hoses their could be a leak somewhere, if there is no leak maybe u need to buy another ecu as this happened to a guys car on here.

i dont think 4agzes came with an oil cooler.....

and to do the boost gauge have a look at this site

yeah that was me, try and get error codes from the ECU and see if they come up. Mine didnt work properly and didnt show the codes so I had to replace the ECU and after that there was no more problems.
How high have u adjusted the idle? , maybe its too low and when your car gets warmed up and starts idleing lower it stalls?

mmm, i'm having this problem in my FXGTZ

usually happens if I boost hard(i.e go to the drags)

mine seems to happen REALLY randomly though, only done it about 6 times in 8 weeks????

Does it sweet $&#$% all, thing is, my other FXGT does it too, and it's not even supercharged..

but it's definitely when it warms up, and definitely when I thrash it(or brake heavily) usually what I do as I'm slowing down is drop it into nuetral and give it about 1k rpm, seems fine when I do that..

ECU you reckon ?? I'll have to have a look

yea ud wana try adjusting the idler prob, when engine nice and warm idles difrntly /lower. For a temp fix u cud try jst slow down in a gear instead of neutral, i mean thats how i drive anyway, its better cause if the light changes to green ur already in a nice low gear and ready to floor it

Yea, I've had the same problem with my FXGT, just adjust your idler, to say 2500rpm to 3000rpm when its idling. Although I still find after a few months it begins to idle low then cut out again, damn pain in the ass!
