Official Toyota Workshop manuals for AE101 Levin GT-Z?

Postby MarkCL » Fri Jun 04, 2004 5:57 am

Hi all,

I'm from the UK and am a newbie here, but not to Toyotas  Couple of questions:

1) Was the AE101 Levin officially sold by Toyota in NZ or are they all imports?

2) If they were official then there should be proper Toyota workshop manuals yes? Anyone know what the part numbers are so that I could perhaps get some ordered?

I have a full set for my ST205 GT-Four and have found them invaluable - now I've just got a 92 AE101 Levin GT-Z imported from Japan and can't find anything useful re servicing, engine work etc :( So, any and all help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Mark

They are all imports. I think there is a company here that translates manuals though.

you can get translated owners manuals... and if you could get the japanese workshop manual you could get it translated.... but they have been discontiuned. most of the 4age manual applies to the 4agze. do a search on the web and you should find the specific info you are after

Well I've had a looong old search on the web and must say I haven't found much so far :( So, if anyone has any links to online docs or other kinds of info on the GT-Z's/4AGZE then please post 'em up here, any and all appreciated :D

Thanks!

theres a guy called 'rollamods' on an australian toyota website that might be able to point you in the right direction.

yup if rollamods dont know it, it aint worth knowing.

but i do know hes sick of ppl asking the same qs!!
what do you need to know about the 4agze? hes got a jap manual and i think hes stated before that there isnt enough difference between the 4age-ze to justify geting it translated

Basically I need to know how to look after it really, and I like having workshop manuals for when things need to be fixed or changed etc.

At the moment if anyone could let me know:

What oils does it use? (s/charger, engine, diffs, g'box etc)
Whats in a minor & major service and how often?
When should the belts be changed?
Tips on tensioning etc?
Any known problem points/things to watch/look out for?
Location of things in the engine bay - always helps to know where everything is!
etc

Basically anything that will help me to keep it running sweet and smooth for a long long time :D

Thank!

you should be able to find most of that stuff posted here and there on this site- particularly the oil stuff- its always being brought up.- just do a search
as for the belts. If you just got the car and dont know for sure if the belts have been done then just get them done for piece of mind. Cambelt every 80-100,000km. All the other belts I just generally inspect them every few months.
Cant believe im still a member here.
