Checking 1UZ-FE transmition fliud

Postby thatdarnyokel » Wed Jun 09, 2004 6:59 pm

i am unsure how to check the automatic transmition fluid level for a 1UZ-FE. I have been told by diferent people to check it when the motor is running in park, and when the motor is not running. which of these is correct?

On the automatic gear box dip stick there is usually two markings on it something like 20 degree C and 65 degree C and there is two notches for each marking.

If your car is at running temperature (been driven around) with the engine OFF check your dip stick the oil level should be between the 2 notiches on the 65 degree C marking.

If your car has not be driven, start it, put ya foot on the break and cycle through the gears beginning with park and ending with park with the engine still idling check the dip stick the oil level should be between the two notches on the 20 degree C marking

make sure your car is on a flat surface and when you take the dip stick out wipe it, re-insert it then take your reading
