Dude. I had knock on my STANDARD mr2 at 10psi on 96 octane fuel when i was racing at the drags.

Next time ran a tank of avgas...no more knock.

As this chaps engine is stock, i dont think youd have any problems with this hence why no need to run avgas..... might as well put nitrogen into the tyres while hes at it haha :lol:


I suggested trying avgas for a tank to try and prove the if it is a detonation problem, not as a permanent solution.
The ones i have worked on, Definatlty had detonation problems when running std boost and std timing being 10 deg BTDC. Avgas fixed the hesitation problems, so did dropping the timming back to 5 degree's.
