Pilot Bearing?

How far do you push the pilot bearing into the end of the crank?

All the way to the ridge? Or just until it's flush?

All the way! should go in just past being flush.

Oh ok, I had my doubts since it doesn't say anything specific in the workshop manual. I seem to have the same resonant vibration at 3000 rpm that was there when i had no bearing installed, and a tiny squeak, but maybe I am paranoid?

I pushed it in so there is a 5mm flat in front of it like this...

doesn't matter. all that matters is that it is in the flywheel and its locating your input shaft. if your really worried measure your input shaft and make sure its sitting in it.

Just trying to avoid having to pull the box out again since its all up and running. But if I can't get a definite answer I guess I will have to take it out and measure it to be sure.
