Postby dx_conversion_4age » Mon Aug 23, 2004 10:38 am

ive had all the help about the parts i need to put a 4age in a dx corolla and starting to sourse them. but my main problem now is the fact of wiring it all up!! ive herd so many diiferent things and am completely confused about the whole thing. if anyone can help me out with wat i need to do that would be great. also is it the type of thing that can be done by your self at home or is itsomething that you are better to take to an auto electricl place and get them to do it?? thanx!!

its piece of piss.. what generation of 4age are you using?

first of all look at the wiring loom with the 3 yellow plugs that go into the ecu, unwrap the whole loom, chop out all the plugs which dont go to anything (or something other than the engine/ecu), strip out all the bullshit wires then connect up the black /red stripes that you cut together, which connects to the battery (or some permanent feed) connect the orange /black stripe wire to the ignition on position, and the black /white stripe to the start terminal on the ignition. you may need to lengthen the loom by like 500mm depending on where you want to mount the ecu. when you re-wrap it use some sort of conduit or fiberglass sleeving to protect the loom. best to have someone check over it before you rap it too incase your not sure
