Rise up... why the hell...

Postby CozmoNz » Tue Oct 26, 2004 7:40 pm

The fronts on super strut cars.. (ae111, ae101 etc), the front wheels are always a good 70% higher than the rear arch to wheel etc.

why is this?

i know alot of people who put in *lowering* springs to the front only, to stop this.

but why do they do it? and how much is fully adjustable coilovers ^_^ (that drop in place of super strut)

How much do you want to spend? You can get cheap coilovers for them (not sure on superstrut) for $400 up to how many ever thousands of dollars you're willing to spend.

Its just all cars in general, front is suppose to sit higher than the back. Even though the car looks lower in the back its probably not, measure the distance from the sills in front and back to the ground. They will more than likely be the same.

People are always saying to me how low mine is in the back compared with the front but sill distances are the same.

the TRD springs are good. the only brand id hesitate to recomend are kings.

you may be able to get your current struts modified to coil over within your price range.

I know for the celicas (st20x) both Tein and Toms sell spring sets which lower the front a little more than the rear. From their reputations I'd say both these companies would make a good quality product that provides better handling - along with the lowered look.

Could be worth a look to see if they offer the same for other Toyotas, though I'm not sure who sells them in NZ.
