Rear mount conversion problems - urgent

Postby LOMOFO » Wed Nov 03, 2004 7:22 pm

I have put a 4agze out of an ae101 levin into my corolla wagon (ae101) and have come into a problem with the gear box mount not mounting up to the corolla x member. I have been told to try and get the levin x member and see if it works.

So what I want to know is, Will this fix my problem and mount up fine? will the x member fit into the car and still have the lower arms bolt on? I am guessing that I will need to find a non-super strut x member??

trying to sort of the prob so i can fix it in time to race at nightspeeds

If you get the other xmember it should bolt on fine. Otherwise it's not really that hard drilling holes and making it fit.

I'll try to get an x member tomorrow and try it out, but its good to know someone elses opinion that it will fit on, do you know if it has to be non super strut?

If the box is going on to a superstut car then i'm pretty sure you'll need an xmember out of a superstrut setup as it will be a bit different but i'm not 100% sure on the exact measurements. A non superstrut member might still work.

Just try both and find out for yerself

Shoudn't be 2 hard to track down some x-members for a 101 shurely.

My wagon does not have super strut so hopefully it shouldnt be a problem. If it all goes to plan i can get the x member out of the original car the motor came out of, i'm just hoping the dismantlers still have it there :?:
Thanks a lot

Hopefully! and hopefully can get it done by friday. I really didnt think that the levin and corolla x members would be different so much of the things are the same in the car. Are the levin 4age and 4agze ones the same?

I'm no expert on this but I remember reading that one of the gze box mounts is different. Are you using the the s/c gearbox? If you don't have it already grab the gearbox mounts of the s/c car as well as the x member - it might save you going back to the wreckers again.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I am using the s/c gear box and have all the mounts, so hopefully all i will need to pick up is the x member, i cant think of anything else i will need. Cheers.
