I think the drain and fill plugs are in fairly standard locations for toyota front wheel drive gearboxes
the only way to 'check' your gearbox fluid will be to have a look at it when you have drained it out but i suppose you can stick your finger in the fill plug to check the level. If you're cheap I suppose you could put it back in.
drain plug is usually below the passenger side's inner cv joint... the fill plug faces towards the front of the car and down towads the ground, it will say something like "consult users manual before filling" probably. You have to fill with a syphon pump thingy because if faces downwards.
I dont know specifically for your car but the plugs should be roughly in these locations
