4age based 4agte probs

Postby Liloss » Sat Nov 06, 2004 8:39 pm

ok we have problems :( got a t25 set up 4agte built on a 4age ( late largeport), Put in a new fuel pump and got it running, now i've been told we need to bleed the boost off the MAP sensor....but how? where should i set my timing at just for a start?

i was told that if i bleed the boost off the 4age ecu, it will be ok? correct?

need help asap plz guys. Cheers!

You really need a 4AGZE ECU to be running positive pressure. Bleeding it off from the MAP sensor will just make the ECU think there is less pressure in the manifold than there and and you'll end up not getting enough fuel which will in turn lead to pistons being in more than a single piece in the bottom of your sump.

GZE and GE ecus are not interchangeable unfortunatly. would need loom aswell and to modify it to run it in the car. Finding a Map based ECU loom could be expensive too :(

just bleed it off as you say and bump up the fuel pressure.

Should be fine for 5-7psi

alternatively run it in diagnostics mode

ok boys

Run your base timing down to around 5deg adv
stick the old girl in diagnostic mode as im not sure if you guys or anyone knows that if you run in diag it will not cut fuel at 4psi or any boost pressure.
get a rising rate fuel pressure reg or an extra injector controller.
Std fuel pump is good to 300ps
