From what I have read (combination of hearsay on UK boards and badly translated Japanese, I believe the ECU isn't quite programable, but can be set up to handle various bits and pieces (so it operates like the factory ecu effectively)
it appears that if you start off with say a factory car, you put in the blitz, but then you get a front mount and do a few other mods, then blitz can download preprogrammed adjustments to optimise for these changes.

I must admit its kinda cool to be in a situation where things are trying to be done on a car that so far hasnt commonly had anything done to it (in NZ at least, I know its all been done in Japan)
