Blitz Access ECU - Caldina GTT tiptronic

from what I can work out a Blit Access ECU costs about 102900 yen to purchase in japan (for a caldina GTT with tiptronic) so about $1410.55NZ

thats not too bad, but is there anyone in new zealand that can tune them? could it be operated by someone who doesnt speak japanese?

anyone know of any other aftermarket engine management for a fingershifter caldina?

Are they even programmable? from what i understand they come pre-programmed - do they have a programmable eeprom or something?

From what I have read (combination of hearsay on UK boards and badly translated Japanese, I believe the ECU isn't quite programable, but can be set up to handle various bits and pieces (so it operates like the factory ecu effectively)

it appears that if you start off with say a factory car, you put in the blitz, but then you get a front mount and do a few other mods, then blitz can download preprogrammed adjustments to optimise for these changes.

I must admit its kinda cool to be in a situation where things are trying to be done on a car that so far hasnt commonly had anything done to it (in NZ at least, I know its all been done in Japan)

Blitz NZ don't support them, somebody else might be able to reprogram the eprom, but you'd be at the mercy of their technical ability, which is poor in every case I've encountered. Not worth the money IMO. Also the timing map is more agressive than stock which the opposite of what you need for NZ conditions,

Blitz NZ??? To my knowledge & also going off the Blitz site there is no Blitz NZ, probably another of those self appointed agents/distributors I guess. Unless you can get someone here that is able to tune the cu then you are basically wasting your time. unless they are giving you their time for free when they are learning the system & prepared to pay to fix any burnouts etc they do to the ecu. You could most probably get any aftermarket computer to work with it, in a piggyback style setup where the aftermarket setup is controlling the fuel/igntion/boost but the stock ecu still see's the signals etc as I'm guessing it either controls the transmission or else sends outputs to the tranny ecu so basically you have to reatin it in some form.

One of the people involved in Blitz Oceania retains the franchise unless something has changed very recently. He only appears to deal with wildcard, however .
