Hi all,
I have a 1992 Toyota Trueno GT Apex.
My drivers side electric window recently just stopped working, won't go up or down. Passengers works okay though.
My battery is a bit on the dead side, and when I operate the drivers window the headlights visibly dim (even when the engine is running), the passengers side doesnt do that. On either window I can't hear any relays clicking.
I tried to take the door apart but got stuck on the plastic surrounding the door trim. I asked the previous owner if she ever got the trim off and she said yes, and gave me instructions on how, I will try those shortly...
She also said around December 2003 the same window stopped working for her, she got it fixed by a mechanic who reportedly replaced the regulator inside the door.. and i have no idea what that is...
Anyone experienced similar problems? If the 'regulator' has broken twice is it likely something else is causing it to do so?
Is the regulator mechanical or electric?
I suspected a switch that indicates the window position to be be broken or something similar but that wouldn't explain why it wont move in either direction.
Suggestions etc would be great, the sooner the better. I'd really like to have working windows again (My old car had a broken drivers electric window also, this is one of the reasons I decided to upgrade)
