Hi all,

Does anyone know where I could hire a pair of coil spring compressors (for suspension springs) in Wellington?

cheers,

I think that both Repco and Supercheap have them for about $40, but since, all going well, I'll only need them for an afternoon, I would hire them if it's cheaper.

Actually, I also have a more techie question. What sort of grease should I use for a front suspension?

i heard that using a machine to compress/expand springs can be quite dodgy and that it can make them weaker but meh im not too sure about that and its way cheaper than buying new ones

No no no no no :) ... He wantsspring compressors which temporarily compess the springs to enable them to be taken off and put on the struts. Dont compress the springs and undo the top bolt and you can seriously injure yourself :?

That's right. I'm just replacing the shock absorbers.

I've checked a couple of hire places without success. I still have to call two more.

Thanks for the offer, V8ROLA. I appreciate it and may yet take you up on it. But if you're in Paraparaumu (are you?), it might be easier for me to hire them in town if I can.

cheers,
