what kind of car do you have?
but yeah 4age would be the go, youll need the engin. loom and ecu which will be about $6-1500 depending on the version you go for. 20v silertops are the cheapest at the moment. you may need to use different mounts depending on what youv got now

easiest option is sell the car, and buy a car that has the motor you want in it already.

Yes, if you change to a gruntier engine, you will have to have it certified.

if you staying away from efi because you are worryed about running into "issues" such as an ecu, then your options are very limited, and your power gain would be crap.

unless you knew how to tune a carberettor and then you could find a cheap 4AG bluetop, put some second hand webbers on it, get it tuned right and have a howling monster...

but yeah, I'd agree with leon.. that is going to be least hassle..

you haven't actually told us what car you've got man...

ok, so thats sprinter as in 4 door?
yeah itd be easier to sell and buy again
if your deadset on doing it up, go for a 20v transplant package. youll need all i listed above. and a efi set up.
you will need cert. prob cost you around $2000 to get it done (thats a guess)

and then youll most likley want upgrade brakes and suspension to match the extra root while a car already fitted with the high perfromance engine is upgraded factory spec
